The 15th Annual "Little Hearts Day" sponsored by all nine Saskatoon Taco Time franchises raised $25,170. The annual event was held on October 4.

"Saskatoon Taco Time franchises sold a total of 25,170 soft tacos during Little Hearts Day," says event organizer and franchise owner Ms. Phil Meister. "Taco Time donates a dollar for each Taco sold. The money goes to the Jennifer Shaw Cardiac Equipment Fund at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Saskatchewan."

Meister noted that over the past 15 years, Taco Time has donated a total of $217,380 for the purchase of heart equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of Saskatchewan children with heart disease and heart defects.

"This year’s money will be used to update the Internet capabilities of the ultrasound equipment in the Little Hearts Room at Royal University Hospital," explains Meister. "Using a high speed Internet link, heart pictures from Regina can be viewed by a pediatric cardiologist at Royal University Hospital who can then make a diagnosis. In many cases, treatment can be performed in Regina, thus avoiding a long trip to Saskatoon for heart kids."
