Taco Time President Ken Pattenden is pleased to announce that local
entrepreneurs Ray and Leeanne Menard will open the companys
first B.C. Cantina in Nanaimo, in early October. Serving authentic
Mexican food and alcohol, the 2000 square foot Cantina will seat
50 people. It also features a patio with retractable door that opens
onto the street. The downtown Cantina will provide local businesses
and area residents with take out and delivery services.
"Taco Times research showed that there was a pent-up
demand for authentic Mexican food served in a fast casual manner
and in an ambience that featured Mexican decor," says Cantina
co-owner Ray Menard.
"In our Cantina, every order is made in front of the customer
who chooses the flavour and level of seasoning for their meal,"
adds co-owner Leeanne Menard. "Customers really have the best
of two worlds - speed and personal choice. They also have the option
of supplementing their meal with authentic Mexican beer and Sangria."
The Nanaimo Cantina will feature Mexican music and artifacts as
well as employees wearing stylish Mexican themed uniforms.
Pattenden added that the company plans to open more additional
upscale Cantina restaurants in Kelowna and Cranbrook before year-end.
