The popular small township of Ranfurly known as the gateway to Central
Otago, is now boasting its first ever major real estate brand office
with the recent official opening of a new Harcourts office.
Harcourts Ranfurly has been opened by Murray Brown to complement
his existing offices in Cromwell and Alexandra. Run by Senior Harcourts
Consultant, Dick Anderson, the team includes local real estate expert
John Cotton who has worked independently in the area for 20 years.
The main street office has windows displaying property from the
area as far as Ranfurly, Naseby, Kokano, St Bathans, Wedderburn,
Cromwell, Alexandra, Clyde and Roxborough and Mr Anderson said the
local response had been "absolutely brilliant. Our property
display windows have become of real interest to both local residents
and the many visitors to the area's tourist attractions including
the internationally renowned Otago Rail Trail which runs right through
the town."
Mr Anderson said Ranfurly had become very popular in recent years
amongst those looking for a lifestyle change and a holiday base
thanks to its growing attractions and stunning landscape popularised
by people like artist Grahame Sydney. A soon to be opened international
curling rink for Naseby along with future proposed developments
including the re-establishment of Lake Taieri for irrigation and
recreational use and the possibility of the development of a new
skifield on Mt St Bathans are expected to make the area even more
popular.
Mr Anderson added that thanks to the good local hospital and other
services enjoyed by its population of 900, Ranfurly was also seen
as an attractive place to retire with a good quality home available
for around $125,000. And as the region with the country's largest
diary farm of 4,500 cows, he was also expecting to see the agriculture
sector develop further.
CEO of Harcourts New Zealand, Bryan Thomson, said "We are
delighted to be established in Ranfurly as part of our drive to
be present in every viable marketplace in New Zealand. Our office
in Ranfurly is perfectly located to service the increasing number
of people who have discovered the wonderful lifestyle and environment
the area has to offer."
