GolfTEC, the Denver, CO based provider of high-tech golf instruction,
is celebrating a major milestone with the opening of the industry's
first golf instruction franchise. The Irvine, CA location, owned
and operated by Timothy Rooney, opened just days before two additional
GolfTEC franchisees opened for business in Scottsdale, AZ., and
Austin, TX. A forth franchise will open in Troy, MI., early next
month.
The opening of GolfTEC's
inaugural franchise reflects they company's most recent move to secure it's position
as the market leader in golf instruction. Established in 1995, GolfTEC was launched
with a mission to help people play better golf. Today, they have given over a
quarter of a million golf lessons and project explosive growth as they enter into
additional U.S markets with corporately owned and franchised locations.
"We've given a lot of lessons and helped thousands of golfers with
their game," said GolfTEC President and Co-founder, Joe Assell. "The
franchise initiative, however, is an especially exciting endeavor. It allows us
to get to market and help frustrated golfers faster, which is important in an
industry that is struggling with retention."
GolfTEC is beginning
the 2004 golf season with a bang. The company recently hired 26 teaching professionals
to staff seven new Learning Centers. Three corporately owned learning centers
will open in existing GolfTEC markets in Chicago, Dallas, and Denver which brings
the total number of corporate stores to 17. GolfTEC's four franchise locations
will make the company's total footprint 21 stores in ten markets.
GolfTEC
plans to sell franchises into all major U.S markets. The company has signed franchise
development agreements in Austin, Detroit, Orange Country, Phoenix and San Antonio
with plans to open 20 franchise locations in the next 18 months. For inquires
