Description

Rory MacDonald Law is a New Zealand law firm providing specialist legal services to prospective and existing franchisors and franchisees. The firms is small and specialized comprising three lawyers, of whom Rory MacDonald and Sarah Pilcher specialise in licensing and franchise law.

Rory MacDonald Law acts for a number of domestic and international franchisors and is regularly involved in preparing and reviewing Franchise Agreements. The firm also advises regularly on property leases, employment contracts and general commercial matters.

The firm maintains strong relationships with other members of the New Zealand franchise community, including major banks, accounting firms, and franchise consultants.

Background

	Rory MacDonald has considerable Australasian expertise and experience, having practiced law in New Zealand and Australia over a number of years. Rory regularly attends franchise conferences, both locally as well as in Australia and San Diego, USA, and Singapore. He is active in the Franchise Association of New Zealand and has written a number of franchising articles.

	Sarah Pilcher has previously worked as a franchising consultant and is part way through a Master in Law degree with a focus on intellectual property.
